TerrainWorks, in partnership with West Fork Environmental, is using NetMap to conduct an analysis of environmental risk involving 600 stream crossing for a proposed transmission line across a portion of southwest Washington. NetMap's virtual watershed and smart synthetic river networks will be used to consider:
- channel types, including flow condition
- proximity to fish bearing streams
- slope stability, including shallow landsliding and debris flows
- channelization
- shade-thermal energy
- surface erosion potential and delivery to streams
- in-stream wood recruitment and mitigation
- road related concerns
West Fork Environmental will develop a transmission line - stream crossing classification system to aid in managing and mitigating risks.
